With a new CEO in place since beginning of 2017, the company is going through an interesting development with a clear vision to be the leader in introducing and further developing exciting brands for both the retail food market, restaurant and catering, striving for market leadership in all their categories. Role description The Category Manager develops overall category strategy and manages its execution on a national level.  As category manager you will be the link between sales and marketing and truly drive initiatives for the foodservice organization. You will be part of the commercial organization. You will have full responsibility for a few of the brands and be the link between the principals/brand owner and the local Swedish market. This new function will proactively drive initiatives for the brands and also for the entire category and develop new concepts. As you also will be the link between the foreign brand owners and the local market both internally and externally we are looking for a communicative person that stands on his/her own feet, easily navigates through hierarchies, be proactive in creating new ideas, diplomatically challenge ideas from brand owners and have a deep and profound knowledge of food and the local Swedish market. The foodservice industry is driven by a few large distributors but this person will in very close conjunction, deep collaboration and true partnership develop new products, functionalities, packaging solutions etc. together with the Food Service Team and with the end client. Responsibilities
  • Execute and create new strategies for the focus categories.
  • Initiate performance improvements focusing on quality.
  • Drive common agendas with strategic clients and principals, as part of a key stakeholder team.
  • Drive and pilot new category and shopper solutions to get better insight about the focus categories.
  • Lead national category networks.
  • Develop assortment strategies based on category insights.
  • Analyse focus categories to enable future growth.
  • Reporting Brand performance to stake holders.
Person description/background
  • University degree in nutrition, food production, health or equivalent.
  • Plus five years of experience from the food industry.
  • Proven track record in sales and business development.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about food.
  • Good at establishing, maintaining and growing relationships with suppliers and clients.
  • Skilled negotiator.
  • Very good presentation skills and pedagogical.
  • Self-propelled and driven.
  • Outgoing and social.
  • Team player
