Category Manager Traded Goods Foods and Confectionery & Snacks

The role You will be a part of the Traded Goods – Foods and C&S team in Orkla Group Procurement. The team consists of five procurement peers located either at Orkla HQ or at an Orkla Company office. You will report directly to the Head of Traded Goods Foods and C&S. The objective is to optimize the total cost of supply by continuous improvement within the defined categories and raise the bar for supplier driven innovation for Traded Goods in Orkla. You are expected to handle a portfolio of categories, both in regards to cost savings, growth, innovation and make/buy decisions. During the coming years supplier development within Traded Goods is a key success factor for growth for Orkla. Hence, a key focus area will be to develop both existing and new suppliers into value creating partners for new products, technologies and markets. The role requires a strong drive and initiative from your side and you will be rewarded with a very dynamic and challenging work environment with high focus on professional and personal development. The position involves some traveling, mostly in northern Europe. Key responsibilities

• Develop and work closely with key suppliers to find new opportunities of growth and cost improvements
• Work close with the local companies and support innovation, new product development, specification improvements, in/out sourcing and growth
• Monitor supply market and present innovations ideas
• Lead a portfolio of categories, both in regards to cost savings, growth, innovation and make/buy decisions
• Develop and manage category strategies
• Assure purchasing spend is timely contracted
• Provide supporting material to companies in price management and budgeting
• Ensure supplier performance within the areas of quality, delivery performance, food safety, responsible sourcing and competitiveness

Your qualifications We are looking for an experienced category manager with a strategic/tactical sourcing background and corporate project management track record. To be successful in this position, you are business-oriented, structured with great communication skills and possess a strong commercial acumen. Building relations internally/externally, managing corporate projects and delivering concrete results is something you thrive on. You have a background within FMCG and you hold a bachelor/master degree – preferably in Business, Finance or Engineering. You are fluent in one Scandinavian language and English, both spoken and written.
