Microbiology Laboratory Manager - based in Lund, Sweden

We have already invested considerably in our capabilities with the upgrade of the Laboratory that was implemented during 2022. As a Microbiology Laboratory Manager your main responsibilities will be to:
- Manage the microbiology laboratory, including staffing, analysis, reporting, OOS and OOT investigations, method development, and continuing cGLP implementation.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives in the lab and beyond. Foster an environment where implementation of continuous improvement is both expected and routine
- Provide development opportunities for laboratory staff.
- Perform personnel activities such as hiring, coaching, mentoring, performing annual reviews etc as needed for all direct reports.
- Provide technical support towards the resolution of CAPA investigations, complaints, customer inquiries, and any other situation where expertise is required. Make appropriate risk assessments and prioritize tasks in conjunction with operations.
- Coordinate the contract lab qualification program. Ensure all third-party contract labs meet the requirements of Probi. Audit third-party labs as needed.
- Draft quality agreements with third party labs.
- Ensure third party labs have appropriate ISO accreditations.
- Continuously review, update or create new instructions and procedures as needed.
We believe the right candidate will have the following:
- Sc. or equivalent in microbiology or equivalent training in a related scientific field.
- Six years of experience in an analytical laboratory. At least three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience with probiotic analysis a plus.
- Experience with ISO certification and accreditation a plus.
- Good math and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve standards and implement processes
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Fully fluent in Swedish or in English both spoken and written
