Job description
As the Purchasing Manager you will report directly in to the CEO and be responsible for all the purchasing activities within SEVAN. You will work closely together with your key stakeholders in the Sales department and also be responsible for building sustainable processes on both strategic and operational level within your own purchasing organization for products and transportation.
Your Responsibility
Your responsibility is to secure the right products to the right price and quality. You will be managing the customer service level as well as the inventory, ensuring the right level of working capital. You will drive new product development, from a sourcing perspective and also develop processes on operational and strategic level, as well as from a legal perspective.
Example of Activities
- Supplier negotiations (price, credit terms, legal, campaigns, claims, etc.)
- Wide quality control (supplier, sub-suppliers, CSR, certifications, product specs, packaging, text, performance, etc.)
- Searching, developing and securing new products, both for Sevan and Hummus Factory
- Facilitate and improve company-wide general purchasing and supply chain function through continuous improvement
- Forward planning, statistical analysis, ordering and follow-up
- Target setting, KPI, feedback and team development
- Supporting market business unit (information, argumentation, evidence, etc) and liaise with market function and suppliers for market related issues
- Commodity analysis and macro environment analysis. Campaign and sales planning together with related departments
- Strategic planning and execution
- Operational buying and related administration eg. Managing custom duties and clearance, Stock level monitoring, shelf-life monitoring and corrective action with own and other departments. Claim and follow-up defective deliveries.
- Extremely strong and proven negotiator with minimum 5 Years of relevant working experience
- Excellent knowledge of purchasing and its application in such fact-based negotiations and cross-functional team collaboration
- Deep understanding of purchasing; enough to analyze issues, define solutions and strategies, and implement changes.
- Good planning skills, be organized, proactive, analytical, results- and solutions oriented and a "problem solver".
- Ability to manage strategic relationships with suppliers, including the creation of relationships, performance, development and integration.
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to be flexible between strategic and operational activities
- Experience in leadership and change management is an advantage.
- Fluent English is required (written and spoken), additional languages such as Swedish, French and Arabic is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of software applications (eg Microsoft Office), presentations, and database systems.
