Do you want to develop new technologies within dairy
The Research Scientist in Dairy technology is a new position which will drive development of the platform for next generation specialty oils and fats for dairy products, involving crystallization, protein interactions and emulsions. You will be based in the international HQ in Malmoe.
The Job – Developing new technologies that nobody has yet thought about…
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) you are part of a highly competent development team, where each have their own specialist area, and where yours is within Dairy technology and -products, focusing on protein-interactions and - emulsions. Together with the product manager for Dairy Products you define potential areas, where new solutions are needed. Also, you generate new concepts and technologies based on market research and a general good understanding of the key drivers in the dairy industry.
You are responsible for defining, initiating and driving development projects, where you e.g. collaborate closely with the specialist labs when testing the solutions. The projects are often long-term projects, where you work with a range of internal stakeholders, external partners from e.g. the academic institutions and ingredients suppliers. There is expected to be around 50-60 days of travelling in connection with networking worldwide, meeting partners in primarily Europe and North America and customers in China, South East Asia and Latin America, and working in the main lab facilities in Karlshamn.
The Profile
Specialist in dairy technology and protein emulsions and experience from the dairy or dairy ingredients industry
You hold a technical degree on master or Ph.D. level within food science or another technical area. You have strong experience from the dairy business or the dairy ingredients industry, where you are used to run development processes, combined with keeping a close look on the market needs. Also, you are used to collaborate with sub-suppliers. In your work, you are used to work with abstract concepts and other “fluffy” ideas that you have to make tangible and ready to develop further upon.
On a personal level, you are driven and dedicated. You are analytical, can comprehend complexities, and are able to clearly communicate information and objectives to a broad range of people and across functions. Through your experience you have learned to balance idealism with reality, and thus you know when to push for a project and not, combined with still being curious to challenge the existing framework and search for new opportunities and technologies. You are driven by the development process more than by seeing quick results, and you thus understand that development is an ongoing process. Finally, a high level of proficiency in oral and written English is expected.
